Visit Buckinghamshire, an interesting county with many features which are worth experiencing including tranquil country walks, unspoiled villages, country parks as well vibrant market towns such as Buckingham UK. The county becomes progressively more rural (and more green) as you move north though the county (which is over 50 miles from North to South) and yet is only a few miles wide at its narrowest point.
When you visit Buckinghamshire, we are sure that that you will find it is one of the loveliest of the Home Counties. It is located in the South of England, quite close to London at the Southern end (within 15 miles) and you will find a great variety of landscape within the county.
In the South of Buckinghamshire, the river Thames meanders across the county before it reaches London and you will find the Chilterns, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (officially given this designation in 1965). The Chilterns is a beautiful area of rolling chalk hills with wonderful wooded areas of Beachwood trees with many villages comprising of brick and flint buildings.
As you move north within the county, the pace of life decreases and you will cross the beautiful Vale of Aylesbury before getting to Buckingham (the original county town) and the rural North of the Buckinghamshire. This area really is the green heart of heart of England.
When you visit Buckinghamshire and Buckingham there is much to see and do. For example there are many historic gardens and houses to visit including Stowe Gardens, Waddesdon Manor, Hughenden Manor, Chenies Manor and Cliveden. Other attractions within the County include: the award winning Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden, the Bucks Railway Centre, Bletchley Park - famous for the 'Enigma' encryption machine, Bekonscot - probably the oldest model village in the world, and the Chiltern Open Air Museum.
